House of Vintage is vintage clothing store with location
in the Southeast Portland's Hawthorne District, OR and
Vancouver, WA. An ample retail space for vendors to set up their vintage goods and sell them. The current brand is confusing and disconnected. For this rebranding project, the design approach is to bring the business into a brand, establish a welcoming culture, and give the community a pop of consistent color.

This redesign of Samurai Champloo’s album Departure creates a scene of escape and hope. The utmost desire was to give the viewer an emotional impression of the album before they even purchased it to draw in an audience that would enjoy the music the most.

New Wave Film Festival
2021
For this branding project I wanted to represent the themes and visual arts of Hong-Kong film director Wong Kar-wai’s work. This festival will be showing a short documentary about the life and career of this iconic filmmakers career. “A filmmaker is like a conductor—you have to set all the instruments to one tone.” Wong Kar-wai once said. He was the most influential modern director beginning in the 1980’s in Hong Kong. The frames in each Wong Kar-wai film are infused with colors that evoke strong moods and emotions. As one of the most distinctive voices working in the cinema field, he pushed the boundaries of Hong Kong genre cinema to create something fresh and innovative. The concept of this film festival booklet is to present his stylish films through time to give a sense of dreaminess and unique visual aesthetics he providedto his viewers.

12 Lunar Animals

The book, called "12 Lunar Animals," is an adventure of the 12 Lunar Animals in the Chinese zodiac is rendered in colorful illustrations. The book is meant to inspire children's imaginations while reminding them to understand the Chinese zodiac culture. The Chinese Zodiac is an ancient method used to determine the age of a newborn based on the lunar calendar cycle. It is one of the classic symbols of China and plays an important role in their culture. This concept will be illustration-focused as each individual is represented by a Zodiac animal. The concept will utilize warm colors and hand-drawn illustrations. The Zodiac Calendar displays a clean and consistent layout to present a calming feeling to the viewer. The goal is to illustrate multicultural tastes by demonstrating the Chinese characters on each page.

"New Arrangements" Publication

New Arrangements is a 16-page book for an art publication to show off their home in Portland, OR. The logo emphasizes the natural form and creates a unique and imperfect result. The page layouts are intended to present a clean, minimal, and balanced image. The selection of colors also evokes the natural world to emphasize that the sculpture artworks in the picture are made from natural materials. For this project I wanted to infuse just enough simplicity
to create an elegant and organic style for this magazine
design. A limited color palette and carefully selected photography
keep the book cohesive and clean. The goal was to
introduce an easily digestible reading experience.

Dear Cafe

Dear Cafe was born as a luxury coffee brand made using 100% Arabica beans, considered the best coffee beans in the world. The color blue and gold enhance the concept of exclusivity and charm. The design direction for this brand is a vintage and luxury concept while still having a stylish and modern influence, “old with the new”.

1: SCUBA DIVING GUIDE
To research the concept of the scuba diving guide, I came out with the idea to add dynamic movements by moving different angles of text blocks and utilizing an isometric perspective.The poster includes the four layers of information: dive gear, six primary levels of certification, scuba meaning, and safety dive depth limits.
